How to start planning your new kitchen
Kitchens can be complicated, but we can help make it simple for
you. So how do you even start to plan your new dream
kitchen?
Step 1
Think about how you use your kitchen. Is it just to
prepare food, do you want to sit down as a family in it or is a
breakfast bench easier?
Will you socialise in it? Is it where you work? Do
you need a lot of storage so things are kept out of sight or do you
prefer open shelving for easier access and to display special
things?
Imagine how you will use the space.
Step 2
Next, make a list of your absolute must haves - double oven,
large fridge freezer, tall cupboards, lots of drawers. Then,
the nice to haves - under cabinet lighting, built in microwave,
breakfast bench. The items on these lists may move around
during the design process as you see what works best within the
space you have, and how your budget gets used.
Step 3
Now you'll need to determine your budget. This may be hard
if you've never bought a kitchen before, so for flexibility use a
range, for example from £5,000 to £7,000. Be aware that other
costs may be involved such as if you want to move the location of
sinks or ovens, as utility supplies will need to be
relocated. Budget for the installation costs too.
We can help you make the best of your budget and give you
options to go up or down, perhaps comparing wood veneer
doors to solid oak, or granite to solid surfaces. We'll
make sure you always get maximum value for your
money.
Step 4
To get an idea of the look you like, think about your personal
style and tastes. If you see a picture you like, cut it out
for inspiration. Do you tend towards more traditional, formal
designs, or are drawn towards a more smooth minimalist
look?
Hopefully, these 4 easy steps will give you some ideas
about what you want and need in your new kitchen. Then, let

magic to create a stunning new kitchen for you.
